As part of its CSR strategy, Nahdi, Saudi Arabia's major retail pharmacy chain, dedicated its capabilities to serve the pilgrims this year. This falls directly in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
A Nahdi team offered 10,000 pilgrims general medical examinations, such as measuring sugar levels, taking blood pressure and body temperature, in addition to calculating body mass index level at five different locations in Mina and one at Arafat site, during the six days of pilgrimage. Pilgrims were also provided with health advice, booklets on Haj, tips and gifts.
Nahdi has set a world record for providing medical checkups for 4,049 pilgrims in only 12 hours in one location in Mina.
At a ceremony held in Jeddah, a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records handed over the certificate to Nahdi CEO Yasser Joharji.
Yasser said: “First of all, I would like to congratulate Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the crown prince and the deputy crown prince for this year’s successful Haj.
“Our initiative to provide medical services to pilgrims during Haj this year was launched under the umbrella of the Ministry of Health (MOH), and in line with Saudi Vision 2030. We are delighted to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by conducting the largest number of medical checkups for pilgrims.”
He added: “As part of its CSR and strategy of providing community service as well as health awareness and preventative campaigns to promote a better lifestyle, Nahdi has employed all its capabilities to serve pilgrims, helping them perform Haj in good health.”
Nahdi’s programs seek to provide health education and awareness services under the supervision of the MOH and in accordance with an integrated health care system. The company launched several awareness initiatives to serve the community in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
