Dollar trades above 78 yen line

The U.S. dollar trades above the 78 yen line early Thursday in Tokyo. At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 78.12-13 yen against 78.02-12 yen in New York and 77.98-78.00 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The euro changed hands at 1.2985-2989 dollar and 101.44-51 yen versus 1.2978-2988 dollar and 101.26-36 yen in New York and 1.3020- 3022 dollar and 101.53-57 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
