Dollar trades above 78 yen line in early Tokyo deals

The U.S. dollar traded above the 78 yen line early Tuesday morning in Tokyo, following reports Monday of the death of DPRK's leader Kim Jong Il. At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 78.01-02 yen against 78.00- 10 yen in New York and 77.91-93 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday. The euro fetched 1.3005-3006 dollar and 101.46-47 yen versus 1. 2994-3004 dollar and 101.37-47 yen in New York and 1.3008-3010 dollar and 101.35-39 yen in Tokyo late Monday afternoon.
