The U.S. dollar traded at the upper 77 yen range while the euro fell against the yen Tuesday morning in Tokyo, after S&P's downgrade warning on eurozone countries for the debt crises. At noon, the dollar fetched 77.78-77.81 yen against 77.77-77.87 yen in New York and 77.98-99 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday. The euro was quoted at 1.3374-1.3375 U.S. dollars and 104.02-06 yen versus 1.3395-1.3405 dollars and 104.23-33 yen in New York and 1.3446-1.3447 dollars and 104.85-89 yen in Tokyo late Monday afternoon.
