Dollar trades in upper 77 yen in early Tokyo deals

The dollar traded at the upper 77 yen level early Monday in Tokyo,slightly up from its late afternoon levels Friday in New York. At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 77.71-72 yen against 77.55-65 yen in New York and 77.68-70 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday. The euro changed hands at 1.3241-3242 dollar and 102.89-91 yen, compared with 1.3196-3206 dollar and 102.43-53 yen in New York and 1.3254-3256 dollar and 102.96-103.00 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.
