Salaries and compensations for employees rose by 11.1 percent to EGP 198.5bn in the fiscal year 2014/2015, compared to the previous year, according to the Finance Ministry's end-of-the-year performance report.
The report ascribed the moving up to the increase of incentives by 6.3 percent to EGP 80bn, and of salaries by 4.9 percent to 27.8bn.
Also, government purchases hiked 14.8 percent to EGP 31.3bn, according to the report.
The finance ministry said that maintenance expenses rose to EGP 4bn in 2014/2015, compared to EGP 3.5bn in 2013/2014, while public transportation expenditures reached EGP 2.9bn, compared to EGP 2.5bn in the previous year.
