Gold futures rose marginally Monday, adding 90 cents to reach $1,592.80 per troy ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. The dollar gave commodities priced in dollars a slight boost with the dollar index off 0.18 percent to 80.94. On the day, silver shed 26 cents to $28.45 an ounce. The euro rose to $1.281 from Friday's $1.278. Against the yen, the dollar rose to 79.30 yen from 79.01 yen. The British pound was $1.5823 from $1.5819. The dollar was 1.0175 Canadian dollars from 1.0222 Canadian.
