Hong Kong stocks surge 4.41% on opening

Hong Kong stocks soared 4.41 percent on opening Thursday, as regional markets were cheered by another Wall Street rally and hopes for a plan to solve Europe's debt crisis. The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 716.41 points to 16,966.68.
