Italy stocks jump on Berlusconi resignation rumour

Italian shares switched sharply into a rally at midday on Monday on rumours of resignation by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, repeated in some Italian media. The FTSE Mib index, which had opened with substantial loosses, turned around to show a gain of 2.33 percent to 15,703 points.
