In a dull trading session, the MSM30 Index retreated 0.33 per cent to close at 5,082.23 points. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 713.29 points, down 0.05 per cent. Oman Fisheries was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Al Anwar Holding, up 0.69 per cent was the top gainer while United Finance, down 2.76 per cent was the top loser.
A total number of 240 trades were executed on Monday, generating a turnover of OMR566,000 with 3.62 million shares changing hands. Out of 24 traded securities, 3 advanced, 10 declined, and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, Foreign Investors were net buyers for OMR15,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR12,000 while Omani Investors switched to net sellers for OMR27,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,082.23 points, down 0.17 per cent. Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat increased 0.69 per cent and 0.51 per cent. United Finance, NBO, Ominvest and Al Ahlia Insurance declined 2.76 per cent, 2.00 per cent, 0.86 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index declined 0.07 per cent to end at 6,828.58 points, down 0.07 per cent. Oman Fisheries, up 0.68 per cent, was the sole gainer. Galfar Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramics and Gulf International Chemicals decreased 1.33 per cent, 0.81 per cent and 0.41 per cent respectively.
Services Index had loss of 0.54 per cent to finish at 2,629.11 points. Renaissance Services, Omantel and OIFC lost 2.36 per cent, 2.07 per cent and 0.73 per cent respectively.
