Qatar Exchange index gained 145.68 points (1.68%) this week, closing at 8,808.44 points, when trading adjourned for the weekend on Thursday. The market capitalization was QR 460,293,385,023.28, an increase of 1.57% compared to the previous week''s figure of QR 453,175,349,928.87. From the 42 listed companies, 35 ended this week higher, two dropped and five remained unchanged. Industries Qatar led the traded value this week accounting for 14.58% of the total traded value. Qatar National Bank accounted for 13.71% while Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 12.39%. The trading value during this week increased by 86.43% at QR 2,044,239,969.25 compared to QR 1,096,501,297.17 last week. The trading volume was up to 42,653,299 shares, an increase by 64.75%, as against 25,889,570 shares while the number of transactions rose by 28.66% going up to 18,067 transactions compared to 14,042 transactions the previous week. The banking and financial sector led the trading value this week with 46.98% of the total traded value. Services sector accounted for 31.81%, industrial sector accounted for 18.84% and insurance sector accounted for 2.36%. The services sector led the traded volume with 43.81% of the total traded volume. The banking and financial sector accounted for 40.95%, the industrial sector accounted for 13.68% and the insurance sector accounted for 1.56%. The services sector led the number of traded transactions this week, accounting for 45.99% of the total transactions. The banking and financial sector accounted for 35.87%, the industrial sector accounted for 16.13% and the insurance sector accounted for 2.00%.
