Tokyo stocks open 1.49% higher

Tokyo stocks opened up 1.49 percent on Tuesday after US stocks rallied sharply amid hopes for a comprehensive solution to the eurozone debt crisis, brokers said. The Nikkei index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange opened up 127.92 points at 8,733.54.
