US stocks closed mixed Wednesday after the Fed statement and major earnings reports.
The Dow Jones industrial average closed 1.58 points lower, or 0.01%, at 18,472.17, with Coca-Cola leading decliners and Apple the top advancer.
The S&P 500 closed 2.6 points lower, or 0.12%, at 2,166.58, with consumer staples leading six sectors lower and information technology the top gainer.
The Nasdaq composite closed up 29.76 points, or 0.58%, at 5,139.81. The iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology ETF (IBB) closed 2.4% higher.
