Two giant Danish ships crossed the Suez Canal on Monday with total cargo of 400.000 tons.
In statements on Monday, a shipping source in the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) said that the Danish container ship Maveo Maersk transited the waterway in the south-bound convoy coming from Malta en route to Singapore via the Red Sea, adding that it was loaded with 200.000 tons of goods.
The Danish giant container vessel Mette Maersk crossed the Suez Canal in the north-bound convoy coming from Saudi Arabia en route to Italy via the Mediterranean Sea, the source underlined, noting that it carried 200.000 tons.
Two locomotives of the SCA accompanied the two ships while crossing the waterway, the source reiterated.
