Under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah with the attendance of His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Kuwait Housing Conference kicked off Sunday morning. His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince was welcomed at the event's avenue by National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, Chairman of National Assembly's Housing Affairs Committee Faisal Mohammed Al-Kandari and other parliamentary committee members. The conference ceremony was also attended former House Speaker Jassim Al-Kharafi, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and senior officials. The ceremony began with recitation of the Holy Quran verses and playing the national anthem. After that a documentary about the housing problem was displayed. Then Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UN-HABITAT Joan Clos and President of Kuwait Real Estate Union Tawfiq Ahmad Al-Jarrah delivered speeches on the conference topic
