Qatar Permanent Population Committee (QPPC) is to celebrate Qatar Population Day, coinciding on Oct.20, with the presence of all its members , the heads of the executive groups ad representatives of the institutions related to population issues together with the school and university students. The participants are to attend the celebration to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel to discuss working programme outlining the priorities of the coming stage and the quantity indicators marking the success or failure in application of the state''s population policy launched in October ,2009. For his part, Dr. Hassan Ibrahim Al-Muhannadi will present a report on status of Qatar Population two years after the launch of the population policy and the accomplishments made since then and the points of strength and weakness in the application and implementation related process . Dr. Al-Muhannadi will also make a presentation on the population legislations in Qatar. This policy include mechanisms, plans, programmes and activities developed by the Permanent Population Committee in order to translate them into practice to achieve the goals and objectives within the framework of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and in cooperation with the concerned sectors in the country. Within the framework of its plan to raise population awareness and on the occasion of Qatar Population Day, coinciding on Oct.20, the Permanent Population Committee (PPC) announced the launch of various competitions for elementary, preparatory, and secondary school students, as well as for university researchers and scientists and talented people. The competitions endeavor to achieve a number of driving objectives including: interest in national culture, emphasis on Arab and Islamic identity and design of the meanings of beauty and values of giving and loving in the Qatari society. They, also, aim to highlight the State of Qatar hosting environment for communities from different parts of the world, who enjoy the recognition of their international rights. In addition, these goals seek to point out tolerance, respect for all cultures, prosperity and progress signs, while bearing heavy burdens to provide various types of services to all inhabitants (health services, education and communication, housing ... etc.). Last but not least they intend to investigate challenges that the State and Communities are facing nowadays to achieve the aforementioned objectives.
