Activists protest against 'rising prices' in Jordan

Hundreds of activists took to the streets across Jordan on Friday in protest against the government's economic policies, calling for its resignation, according to eyewitnesses and organisers. In a series of rallies led by leftist and independent activists in the southern cities of Karak, Tafileh and Maan, protesters declared Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour’s Cabinet reshuffle last week a “failure” for not including opposition figures and called for the formation of a “national unity government” representing wider segments of society. In a rally in the northern city of Irbid, around 250 Islamists denounced the government's stance towards the Egyptian crisis.
