Alan Rickman secretly wed girlfriend Rima Horton

Alan Rickman is a married man.

The 69-year-old actor's rep confirmed Rickman secretly wed longtime girlfriend Rima Horton after he broke the news in an interview with German newspaper Bild.

"We are married, just recently," Rickman told the publication. "It was great because no one was there. After the wedding in New York, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and ate lunch."

Rickman and Horton met as teenagers in 1965 and moved in together in 1977. The actor is known for such films as Die Hard and the Harry Potter series, and will direct and star with Kate Winslet in upcoming period drama A Little Chaos.
