Head of Cairo airport police department Fahmy Mogahed denied that the airport customs or security authorities were responsible for defacing the vintage guitar of Canadian singer and songwriter Bryan Adams.
Speaking to MENA, Mogahed said the airport security and customs authorities have nothing to do with the incident as they had not handled Adams’ guitar.
The freight company was basically the one responsible for the guitar, he said.
On Facebook, the famous rocker posted a photo showing green paint marker near the guitar’s neck, with a caption “Airport customs graffiti on my 1946 Martin D-18 from Egypt.”
Last year Adams shared a similar disdain over Twitter after Air Canada used black ink to mark his guitar with a serial number.
