Jason Derülo wants to set an example with his recovery from a life-threatening neck injury. The singer suffered a fracture to his vertebrae while practicing a dance routine for his Future History tour earlier this year and narrowly avoided being paralysed. The star has explained how the injury affected his life and added that he wants to inspire others. "It definitely changed my perspective on life and this is definitely a second chance and to be on that stage again after being off for so long is invigorating," he told Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O. "I believe that God is watching over me and that I'm supposed to be here and tell this story. I get messages all the time where people are like, 'Jason, I had a similar accident to you but I wasn't so lucky'. This gave me an opportunity to tell people like this that you can still be on your feet, you can still get back up. You gotta find out what the purpose was, why did that happen to you and get back up from it." Speaking of higher powers, Jason recalled a ghostly encounter while he was touring in Germany. The Flying Solo star revealed that one of his dancers took a photo of a spirit haunting her hotel room. "I was in Germany and one of my dancers was like, 'There is a ghost in my room' and I didn't believe them - none of us did! And then the next morning she brought us pictures of the ghost. Photos of the ghost! It looked like the lady from The Ring. She took a picture of herself in the mirror and the chick is right behind her," he added.
