US reality television star Jesse James says he thinks he is in an "awesome place" two years after actress Sandra Bullock divorced him for cheating on her. "Everyone can say whatever they want about me and call me whatever, but guess what? I'm still standing," James told E! News while promoting "Jesse James: Outlaw Garage," his Discovery Channel special premiering Monday. James, who lives in Austin, Texas, returned to television by competing on Discovery's "American Chopper: The Build-Off" in December. "Outlaw" follows the former "Monster Garage" and "Celebrity Apprentice" star and his team at the Austin Speed Shop as they rebuild a 1932 Ford Roadster. He said he hopes it will become a series. "I think I'm in a pretty awesome place in life," James told E! "In light of everything that's happened, I think I came out of it a better dad and a better person while living and working in a place that's like heaven to me." As for his new show, he said: "There's a little bit of personal life [in 'Outlaw'] with the kids and kind of explaining where I am now. I hate the words 'reality TV' because I think this is a refreshing change because none of it is scripted -- there's no made-up drama." James was married to Bullock for five years. News of his extramarital affairs broke shortly after she won an Oscar for her work in "The Blind Side." Following their split, he quickly announced his engagement to tattoo artist Kat Von D, but they have since broken up. James is the father of three children from previous relationships.
