According to sources at Egyptian TV channel “Al Hayat,” Lebanese singer and actress Nicole Saba will replace Lebanese television host Razan Moughrabi as the host of a new program the channel will air. Razan, the sources say, has been let go by the station. A title for the show that Nicole will host has not yet been decided on. The step comes after active members on different Internet sites had started campaigns against Razan, stating that she should be banned from appearing on any Egyptian channel. The members claimed she was not the right person to promote tourism in Egypt, as a scandalous video of her had been released over the Internet a few months ago. The activists added that it was an insult to their country and all Egyptians to have Razan promoting tourism in Egypt. Allowing her to host a program on an Egyptian TV channel, they said, meant that Al Hayat had no respect for Egyptian society, its beliefs and traditions. The decision of Al Hayat to dismiss Razan comes after the channel decided not to broadcast the show “Zoro Masr” (Visit Egypt), which Razan had filmed and was to be aired by the channel.
