Afshan Azad stunned fans by sharing a grown-up selfie Friday on Twitter.
The 27-year-old British actress often posts photos on social media, but was only recently the subject of a Buzzfeed article about her very different looks. Azad is best known for portraying Padma Patil in the Harry Potter series of films.
"Seriously guys, all this hype after the Buzzfeed article is ridiculous! Hilarious but crazy! I appreciate it&all but come on I was 16 then!" she tweeted Saturday. "People grow up and obviously I've matured and changed!"
"It's not a transformation!!!!! I just grew up!!" she later posted. "I just don't get it!!! I've looked like this for years, lmao wtf is all the fuss about????? A mahoosive [heart] to anyone who's had anything nice to say. I've read all the positive and supporting comments, you lot are incredible."
Neville Longbottom actor Matthew Lewis caused a similar stir when he posed shirtless for the June issue of Attitude magazine. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are among the other young actors who starred in the Harry Potter movies.
Azad last appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011), and went on to pursue modeling. The actress made headlines in 2010 after her father and brother attacked her for her relationship with a non-Muslim man.
