Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Pique are reportedly expecting their second child.
Multiple sources claim the 37-year-old singer is pregnant, and some say the baby is a girl. Shakira and Pique, a 27-year-old professional soccer player, are already parents to 18-month-old son Milan.
Friend and fellow Colombian singer Carlos Vives first mentioned the pregnancy at the 2014 Premios Juventud awards in June. "If she is pregnant, what a blessing," he told a reporter for Televisa.
Colombian news outlets picked up the story after Shakira performed in a conservative outfit at the 2014 World Cup final July 13. Caracol Noticias reported the singer is about three months pregnant and taking precautions with her health and nutrition.
Univision host Raul de Molina seemed to confirm the news on his show, El Gordo y La Flaca, last Monday. The television personality told viewers the couple is expecting a girl and said, "I got confirmation on Friday from somebody who is also from [Shakira's hometown of] Barranquilla. So congratulations to Shakira because she is going to have the couple, boy [Milan] and girl."
Molina also said in an interview with People en Español, "Sources very close to singer Shakira have confirmed that she is indeed pregnant and that the parents are more than happy because she is expecting a girl."
Shakira and Pique met on the set of her music video for "Waka Waka," the official song of the 2010 World Cup. The couple share the same birthday, February 2, but Shakira is ten years his senior.
