Baghdad - Arabstday

Iraqi singer Shatha Hassoun has achieved significant success in her less than five years in the music industry and has made a place for herself among the canon of great Arab singers. Shatha’s name has been associated with Lebanese singer Myriam Fares and Yemeni singer and television host Arwa, and most recently with Moroccan singer Muna Amarsha. Shatha and Muna have recently engaged in a media war, making statements about one another leading to further disputes between them. Muna recently said that she does not know Shatha and had never met her in person. Muna’s statement came after Shatha said that the two met at a restaurant.  Muna denied the meeting occurred and that the two have reconciled their differences.Muna also said that she is glad Shatha is following her every move. According to the London based Elaph, Shatha said that she is too busy to worry about nonsense said by other singers. Shatha is currently preparing to film a new music video for her song “Aladin”, which is from her first album that is produced by ‘Rotana.’Shatha was also recently in a dispute with Arwa, after Shatha appeared as a guest on a show hosted by Arwa. Arwa asked Shatha a series of questions on the show, which Shatha described as “direct attacks” against her. Disputes escalated between the two reaching court.
