Shayne Lamas and husband Nik Richie are expecting their second child.
The 29-year-old reality star revealed her 28-year-old stepmother, Shawna Craig, will act as the couple's surrogate and is pregnant with a baby boy. Lamas and Richie announced the news in an interview with Closer, and discussed their family dynamic with the magazine.
"Shawna's not just my stepmother, she's like a soul sister. She's an angel that blessed my whole family, including my father," Lamas lauded of the actress. Craig added, "I'm ecstatic to be pregnant. It's the best thing in the world."
Lamas is the daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas and his second wife, Michele Cathy Smith. Her father was also wed to Victoria Hilbert, Kathleen Kinmont and Shauna Sand, and married Craig in April 2011. Lorenzo Lamas has five other children.
Lamas and blogger Nik Richie wed in April 2010, and welcomed their first child, daughter Press Dahl, in November 2011. The couple lost their unborn son after Lamas suffered a uterine rupture in February 2014, an event the reality star commemorated last week on Instagram.
Lamas is known for winning season 12 of The Bachelor, but did not marry financier Matt Grant. She subsequently starred on E! reality series Leave it to Lamas, and appeared on Couples Therapy with Richie. Craig is known for her work on soap operas Renegade and The Bold and the Beautiful.
