Pakistan
Islamabad - KUNA

At least two security personnel and seven militants were killed in Turbat area of southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan on Thursday.
Home Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed that seven militants were killed and more than 20 injured in the clashes, adding that weapons were also recovered from the possession of militants.
He further stated: "Forces were still conducting raids in different areas to apprehend the miscreants." Security forces launched an operation in the area after unidentified gunmen opened fire at a security forces' convoy in Nasirabad area of Turbat. Rescue teams rushed to the site of the incident and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. Security personnel cordoned off the area as a search operation went under way.
Balochistan province has been facing violence and insurgency for over a decade demanding greater share of profits from the region's oil, gas and mineral resources.
