At least three terrorists and one security personnel were killed on Wednesday morning in a shootout in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, local media and officials said. The spokesman of Rangers, a paramilitary force, said that the incident took place when a party of Rangers raided a compound for search operation in Gulshan-i-Buner area of Karachi. The militants who were hiding in the building opened fire and killed one of the security personnel on spot. The personnel of Rangers cordoned off the building and retaliated with full force, killing three terrorists present in the building. According to the spokesman, the terrorists belonged to the banned militant outfit of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and were planning to attack a religious procession on Thursday and Friday in Karachi. Rangers also confiscated a huge quantity of weapons, including hand grenades and explosive devices. In two other incidents, at least two persons were killed and one another was injured in separate firing incidents in different areas of the city.
