The Taliban claimed responsibility for a suicide bomber attack on a police station near Bannu, Pakistan, Monday that left six people dead. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told the Pakistani news website Dawn.com two of its suicide bombers detonated their explosives at the Kaki police station near Bannu. He said the attack was in retaliation for the recent killing of Ibrahim Mehsud, a nephew of former TTP leader Baitullah Mehsud. Dawn com said hospital sources confirmed receiving six bodies along with two injured police officers. Security sources said the dead included the two militants who blew themselves up inside the police station and three local civilians. The identity of the sixth person killed had not bee determined. Dawn com said the militants and police engaged in a gun battle that lasted for 3 hours.
