At least 35 militants were killed in aerial strikes by Pakistan military fighter jets in the North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan on Wednesday, said military.
A statement by media wing of Pakistan military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, "Three terrorist hideouts were destroyed in precision strikes in the northwest of Datta Khel." Datta Khel is considered a stronghold for local and foreign militants and a targeted clearance operation is under way in the area.
Earlier on Tuesday, at least six suspected militants and a logistic staff member were killed in an encounter with security forces in Detta Khael area.
Pakistan Army launched a comprehensive military operation 'Zarb-i-Azb' on June 15 following a brazen militant attack on Karachi's international airport and failure of peace talks between the government and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Over 1,000 militants including foreigners have been killed and around a million people have been displaced in the operation so far.
