A senior police official and four other policemen were killed in a blast at Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwah province, northern Pakistan on Monday. According to police officials, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Khan Bahadar Khan has been killed along with four other police officials in Paryana village of Shangla district, as his vehicle was targeted with a roadside bomb. A senior police official, Deputy Inspector General of Police Malakand Range has confirmed that five policemen have died in the attack. The vehicle of the DSP was targeted with a remote controlled Improvised Explosive Device when the police force was on a routine patrol, police official told media. "I can confirm that DSP Khan Bahadar Khan, two guards, a driver and a special police official has died and that it was a remote controlled roadside IED," police official said. The vehicle was completely destroyed due to intense blast. The security forces have cordoned off the area immediately after the blast and carried a search operation.
