At least six people were killed and many others wounded in a remote controlled blast in Bajaur tribal region of northern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan on Tuesday, said officials.
According to local administrative officials, the deceased include three female teachers, two children and a driver.
The bomb was planted on the roadside that was detonated through a remote control in Salarzai Tehsil of Bajaur. The explosive material was exploded when a school van was passing through Tangi area killing at least six people and wounding many others.
The security forces immediately cordoned off the area and probe into the incident went underway. The rescue teams shifted the injured people to the nearby hospital. The attack came at a time when Pakistan military is undergoing a comprehensive operation against the foreign and local militants in the North Waziristan tribal region.
