Pakistani police on Wednesday claimed to have killed three terrorists including a woman belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) here in Khanpur, Geo News TV reported.
Khanpur is a large village and one of the 44 union councils, administrative subdivisions, of Haripur District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
A policeman was also killed and another injured during the operation that was jointly conducted by the police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Tofkian area of Khanpur.
The shootout between the law enforcers and the terrorists took place when a search operation was being carried out on a tip off regarding presence of the suspects, the police said.
Identities of the suspects are yet to be ascertained. The bodies were shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
