Baghdad - MENA

International coalition war jets struck a group of Daesh terrorists south of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, killing Daesh leader Abu Huzaifa and three of his companions.

A vehicle belonging to Daesh militants was also destroyed in the airstrike.

The second phase of Ninawa liberation operation began on Saturday, June 18.

Daesh has controlled Iraq’s second largest city of Mosul for the past two years.

Last month, the United Nations warned that the military operation to retake the city could displace 3.4 million people and cause a humanitarian crisis.
