The Iraqi government said Friday its Air Force attacked a group of terrorists belonging to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Khana Sor district of Sinjar city in northwestern governorate of Ninawa near the borders with Syria.
Forty-five terrorists were killed and 60 others wounded in the air strike, according to a statement by the government.
Those killed include the ISIL judge named Abu Al-Arabi - an Egyptian national, Abd Islmail - nicknamed Abu-Gaza who is a Palestinian national and key aide to ISIL leader Abu-Bakr Al-Bughadadi, the self-proclaimed emir of Al-Mayamin area in Syria, and Abu-Tiba Al-Nabulsi - a Palestinian.
The air strike was based on accurate intelligence collected over the last three days with a view to ensuring the heaviest damage to the ISIL terrorists and avoiding any damage to the civilians in the targeted area, the statement added.
