A Turkish newspaper said Saturday 400 special forces personnel have been deployed in Iraq's Mosul according to an agreement between former Turkish foreign minister Feridun Sinarla and head of Iraq's Kurdistan Massoud Barzani during on November 4.
"Milliyet" added that the 400 troops replaced 80-90 others who were tasked with the same functions with the knowledge of the international anti-Daesh coalition.
Meanwhile, the "Cumhuriyet" newspaper said that the Turkish troops also reinforced their intelligence center in Iraq's Simele, a town located in Dohuk on the main road that connects Iraq to Turkey.
Earlier in the day, Iraq has called on Turkey to immediately withdraw its troops from Iraq's north, calling their presence a violation of Iraqi sovereignty.
