Two car bombings hit the Syrian capital Damascus and the central province of Homs on Monday, killing at least six people and injuring several others, the official SANA news agency reported. The first booby-trapped car went off near the Damascus' suburb of Bardeh, leaving injuries and property losses, SANA reported. In the central province of Homs, another explosive-packed car went off at the pro-government district of Zahera, killing six people and injuring 20 others, said SANA, adding that women and children were among the dead. Meanwhile, 17 people were injured Monday in mortar attacks in several districts of Damascus. The official SANA news agency said that the rebels were being behind the explosions and the mortar attacks. The fresh wave of violence seems to be the rebels' retaliation for their loss of a key strategic area north of Damascus, which is recaptured by the army.
