At least 65 members from Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad's regime forces were killed in eastern Homs, which has been witnessing fierce battles for two days, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a press statement Sunday.
There was conflicting news whether those people were mistakenly killed by warplanes or by fighters of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the statement added.
Special units from Al-Assad's regime forces compelled the fighters of ISIL to retreat and controlled Shale gas field, where Al-Assad's forces were centered and started striking the sites of the ISIL, leaving scores dead or injured.
In Damascus, Al-Assad's forces, supported by National Defence forces, are fiercely clashing with Al-Nusra Front fighters, an Al Qaeda-linked rebel group in Syria, and Islamic Battalions fighters.
