The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Thursday that Daesh militants downed a Syrian warplane in southern Syria.
The jet was targeted near Khalkhala military airport in the northeastern countryside of al-Suwaidaa, the observatory said in a statement.
The initial information said that the warplane crashed and the pilot escaped, it added.
