Syria denies cell seeking Assad's assassination

Syrian sources refuted what an online video has claimed that there was a cell seeking the assassination of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Sources told the independent Damaspost website that the video has been heavily edited and has been taken out of its context. Syria has been engulfed in violence since mid-March 2011, with deadly clashes between President Bashar al-Assad's security forces and opposition fighters, leaving thousands of people dead.
