The UAE Red Crescent Society on Wednesday presented four buses to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to ease the burden of transporting Syrian refugees from their gathering point after crossing the Jordanian-Syrian border to the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Mafraq. The buses are the second batch of a donation from the society that included six buses and two ambulances. IOM Jordan Chief of Mission Davide Terzi commended the UAE’s support for humanitarian services. Also Wednesday, Mafraq Governor Abdullah Saaydeh said a new route to the Zaatari camp will be opened next week to substitute for the Mafraq-Safawi road, which is currently being used to visit the camp and deliver food and medical assistance. He said the new road will ease the traffic congestion caused by vehicles and people gathering outside the camp’s entrance.
