Korean singer-actor Ryu Si Won\'s wife Jo Soo In has filed for divorce after just 18 months of marriage, and wants full custody of their daughter, reported Korean media. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Jo\'s lawyer said Jo refused to divulge the reason behind their split \"out of respect\" for Ryu. This reluctance to reveal the reason behind their separation had sparked rumours that Jo had decided to leave Ryu because of his penchant for drag racing, and had also asked for an inordinately large chunk of the star\'s assets, rumours Jo\'s lawyer had since denied. Ryu had earlier expressed through his management agency that he does not want a divorce, but instead wishes to talk things over with Jo, who is nine years his junior, in a bid to resolve their marital problems for the sake of their one-year-old daughter. Incidentally, Ryu stars in an upcoming Korean drama titled \"Goodbye Dear Wife\" which will air in Korea sometime in May.
