Chairman of Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish has said the progress achieved in digging New Suez Canal project is "miraculous."

In press statements on the sidelines of UAE Minister of State Sultan al Jaber's visit to the New Suez Canal project, Mamish said 98 percent of dry digging was accomplished and 227 million cubic meters of sand were lifted.

He added that 140 million cubic meters of wet sand were also removed.
