Sharm el-Sheikh - Arab Today
The Arab atomic energy agency asserted on Saturday that nuclear energy is still the most important option to obtain clean and cheap power despite a recent nuclear plant disaster in Japan.
The agency's chairman Abdel Maguid El Mahgoub recommended Arab countries that plan nuclear power projects to go ahead and to learn lessons from the Japanese disaster.
He was speaking at the inaugural session of the 12th conference of the agency on peaceful use of nuclear power.
