Eight elements of the Houthi and Saleh militias were killed and 11 others wounded in fierce clashes and exchanged shelling with the Yemeni forces in western Taiz, Yemeni military sources said on Friday.

In statements to Sky News channel, the sources added that the clashes also left two personnel of the Yemeni forces dead and six others injured.

Two militants of the Houthi and Saleh militias as well as another couple of the Yemeni forces were captured in the clashes, they added.
