A car bomb exploded in western Kabul on Monday, police spokesman Najib Danish told AFP, adding there were no details yet about the target or if there were any casualties. 
The neighborhood is home to many Shiite Hazaras, a persecuted ethnic minority which was hit hard just a year ago in a strike which killed dozens -- in the first attack claimed by the Islamic State group in the heart of Kabul.
