The Assuit Criminal Court

The Cassation Court on Tuesday repealed a ruling sentencing 26 defendants of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group to lifetime term in jail in the case of acts of violence in Assuit.

The court ordered a retrial of the defendants before another court.

The Assuit Criminal Court had sentenced the defendants to 25 years in jail over several charges including joining an outlawed group that resorts to terrorism for achieving its goals.

The charges include also storming a police station, looting it and setting its ablaze along with attacking other public facilities.
