An explosion was heard in Kabul city few minutes earlier on Sunday, Afghan Khaama Press news agency reported.

The incident has reportedly taken place in the vicinity of the fifth police district of the city.

There are no reports regarding the type of the explosion and possible casualties.

In the meantime, eyewitnesses in the area said that the incident has taken place close to Afshar area in the fifth police district of the city.

According to the eyewitnesses, the incident took place after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives close to the security forces convoy.

A security source confirmed that a suicide bomber targeted the security forces convoy in close to Afshar.

The source further added that preliminary reports indicate at least three people were wounded in the attack.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
