French President Francois Hollande called Wednesday for new sanctions against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad after the suspected chemical attack on a rebel-held town in Syria.
Speaking as the UN Security Council began meeting to discuss Tuesday's attack that killed dozens of people, Hollande called on the body "to order a probe into the attack and after this probe, sanctions should be taken against the Syrian regime."
