Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

The Arab Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives has praised the Egyptian draft resolution on Jerusalem which was backed by 14 SC member states and vetoed by the United States.

The committee said in a statement after a meeting Tuesday under Saad al Gammal that the Egyptian draft resolution caused "a political and diplomatic earthquake that shocked the conscience of the free world."

He said the closure of PLO office in Washington, the cut of aid to the Palestinians and the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel isolated the US and Israel from the international community, pointing out that the US veto against the Egyptian draft resolution was flagrant violation of the international legitimacy and a bias to Israel.
